The wetland scope

Qare Qeshlaq wetland is located on the southern shore of Lake Urmia and between the important Sufi Chay and Zarrineh rivers. The main part of the land is covered by shallow wetlands which have been created due to the slight slope of the region as well the distribution of water of the surrounding rivers. This wetland is 1 to 1.5 meters deep and its water is from fresh to salty. Its minimum altitude is 1360 and its maximum altitude is 1300 meters above sea level (average altitude 1290 meters). The area of Qare Qeshlaq wetland is 40,000 hectares and the no-hunting zone of Qare Qeshlaq is 48,000 hectares. The location of Nowruzlu wetland in West Azerbaijan Province on four directions:
